PURPOSE:
Does city council support an amendment to the 2014 agreement with the Regional Transportation District (RTD) for funding for the Shopping Cart?

SUMMARY:
Since 1992, RTD has provided funding for the Shopping Cart transportation program. This is a fixed route service for Littleton residents age 55 and older and operates six days a week.
The most recent agreement between the city and RTD expired December 31, 2018. The funding agreement dated March 18, 2014 provides that an amendment may be used to account for changes in funding, see revised Exhibit B.
In 2013, the Littleton Transportation Network (LTN) was created. The LTN board members are: Susan Thornton (vice chair), and Linda Hailey, Hugh Hillary, and Corey Reitz (South Metro Housing Options). The staff liaisons are City Clerk, Wendy Heffner (chair), and Transportation Coordinator Wendy Shea-Tamag.
PRIOR ACTIONS OR DISCUSSIONS:
This is an annual grant that is discussed each year as soon as the grant information is received by the City Clerk from RTD.
ANALYSIS:
Staff Analysis
LTN pursues additional revenue through fundraising and advertising. LTN has developed a marketing plan for the Shopping Cart which was approved by RTD. It includes updating the website, filming a PSA for channel 8, and seeking advertisements on the buses.
