PURPOSE:
To authorize a GIS Data License Agreement with the City and County of Denver acting by and through its Board of Water Commissioners.

SUMMARY:
The City of Littleton and Denver Water each maintain GIS data on their infrastructure: Denver Water on its water infrastructure; and the City of Littleton on its sewer, stormwater, and other infrastructure. It is beneficial for city staff to have access to Denver Water's data in order to effectively plan, analyze, and maintain the city's right-of-way. Collectively, all of this data is useful as staff plans and programs capital improvement projects in a collaborative effort to repair underground infrastructure before a major pavement management project, such as mill and overlay. The data is also valuable in understanding utility locations for right-of-way permits and for proposed development projects.

Through this agreement, Denver Water agrees to provide the city with access to certain GIS data, which is updated on an annual basis for a period of 30 years.

This subject has not previously been discussed with council.

ANALYSIS:
Staff Analysis
Staff collaborated with Denver Water to obtain access to certain GIS data for purposes of planning, analysis, and maintenance of the city's right-of-way. This data will only be used internally and will not be shared with anyone other than the staff authorized to have access to it.
