PURPOSE:
Does city council support appointing Commander Hal Mandler to serve as the representative for the City of Littleton on the Arapahoe County Community Corrections Board?

SUMMARY:
The Arapahoe County Community Corrections Board (ACCCB) is responsible for screening felony offenders for placement in community corrections programs (half-way houses) in Arapahoe County. Offenders referred to the ACCCB are either transitioning from the Department of Corrections (DOC) back to the community or sentenced directly to the programs in lieu of a sentence to DOC. The ACCCB has established screening criteria based on the crime of conviction. Referrals are screened by the Full Board, Review Committee, or are eligible for placement without a formal board review, based on the offense.

The Full Board meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month. The Full Board meeting starts at 3pm and is held a 6954 S. Lima Street, Centennial CO 80112. The Full Board reviews approximately 25 referrals each month. Full Board meetings typically last about 2 hours. Referral packets are sent out to board members about two weeks in advance of Full Board meetings. It can take several hours to review all of the referral material to prepare for the Full Board meeting.

The Review Committee meets weekly on Wednesdays at 6984 S. Lima Street, Centennial 80112 at 12:15pm. On weeks when there is a Full Board meeting, the Review Committee meets on Thursday at 1:30pm, prior to the Full Board meeting. The Review Committee is made of 5 rotating board members.
