PURPOSE:
Pursuant to city code Section 8-11-2, following the filing of a service plan with the Community Development Department to establish a Metropolitan District, the city council must set a date for formal consideration of the service plan.

SUMMARY:
The city has received a formal request to establish a new Metropolitan District for the 33 acres located at the southwest corner of Santa Fe Drive and Mineral Avenue. The property is owned by Evergreen and is referred to as RiverPark. The purpose of this agenda item is to set the date at which the city council will consider formal action regarding the RiverPark Metropolitan District Service Plan. The date for formal consideration is August 20, 2019.

Staff Analysis
This agenda item is purely administrative, the only purpose being to set the date in accordance with the city code.
Council Goal, Objective, and/or Guiding Principle
This council action is limited to establishing a date for formal consideration. The RiverPark Metropolitan District Service Plan correlates to Goal 2, Financial Stability, by providing an alternate source of financing for public improvements.
Fiscal Impacts
A full analysis of the Service Plan will be provided for the August 20, 2019 city council meeting.
Alternatives
Timing requirements are specified in the city code to establish a formal council date.
