SUMMARY:
Planning Commission will review the progress of the Comprehensive Plan. The updated future land use and character handout is attached and members are asked to review the future land use map and overview of character types from the June 25 Joint Leadership session and reference all three for the discussion.
PRIOR ACTIONS OR DISCUSSIONS:
In addition to the four Joint Leadership sessions with City Council, Planning Commission has also held five additional study session discussions about Envision Littleton. March 25 included an open discussion with newly appointed Community Development Director Jennifer Henninger about Phases 1 and 2 as well as the transition to the Future City Phase of Envision. On April 8, both Jennifer Henninger and Envision Littleton Project Manager Kathleen Osher joined Planning Commission in a study session following their regular meeting to further discuss the project schedule and outline of the Comprehensive Plan. On April 22, the regular meeting agenda was amended to include a study session teleconference with Gary Mitchell prior to the Joint Leadership session on April 23. May 13 included a discussion with Jennifer Henninger and Kathleen Osher about the policy implications for Envision Littleton introduced in the packet from the April 23, 2019 Joint Leadership session. Planning Commission held a study session with Gary Mitchell, KKC to begin the discussion about the “Questions for Direction for Land Use and Character Policies” developed by staff and Planning Commission members. The most recent study session included Gary Mitchell and Meredith Dang, KKC to further discuss the “Questions for Direction for Land Use and Character Policies” as well as review the outline for the Comprehensive Plan on June 26, 2019.

Envision Littleton is on schedule with the Future City scenarios for both land use and transportation.
Envision Littleton is a little more than halfway through community engagement activities for the Future City Phase; the largest events are planned for August to prepare the community for the draft documents as well as promote the chance to provide feedback from August 14-September 16.
