Study Session with the Planning Commission regarding Envision Littleton

REQUESTED ACTION:
Envision Littleton is now in Phase 3 and this study session will be an opportunity to discuss and provide direction on future scenarios for land-use. The discussion will build on the most recent Joint Leadership study session on April 23 and again reference the handouts and maps provided prior to that discussion.
BACKGROUND:
Planning Commission unanimously recommended and City Council adopted a unifying vision and five guiding principles on December 18 in anticipation of the update to the City’s Comprehensive Plan and creation of the City’s first-ever Transportation Master Plan.
The 2019 efforts have been organized into 5 Phases and the project is currently in Phase 3. Planning Commission has requested a presentation on the progress of Envision Littleton at every meeting.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
Both consultant teams continue making progress and the project is on schedule. Staff members are meeting with various groups, members of the community, stakeholders, partners, as well as other City appointed boards and commissions to continue to gather input on the working draft future community character maps.
The discussion for May 13 will include:
• Areas identified by KKC as needing further discussion (Map titled: Areas for Discussion)
• Defining Downtown (Handout titled: Defining Downtown)
• Policy implications (Page 8 of the Future Land-Use and Character Handout)
