REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION:
Does city council support amending the site development plan regulations?
BACKGROUND:
Currently, site development plans are categorized as either site development plans or sketch plans, both are processed administratively and the applicant may appeal a denial of either a site development plan or sketch plan to the planning commission.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
The proposed changes include updates to the definitions and procedures which create different categories of site development plans, major and minor. In the procedures section of the proposed amendment, all site development plans may be appealed by the applicant to the planning commission. Major site development plans may be appealed by any property owner within 300 feet of the development.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
None
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that council provide direction to staff to bring back to council a proposed ordinance for introduction on first reading amending the site plan development code.
OPTIONS/ALTERNATIVES:
Option A: Provide direction to staff to bring back to council a proposed ordinance for introduction on first reading amending the site plan development code.
Option B: Direct staff to take no further action at this time.
