Project History
In 2015, the City of Littleton was awarded a State Historic Fund Grant to help pay for a survey of commercial buildings in the West Littleton Boulevard corridor. On behalf of the city council, the mayor signed a contract with the State of Colorado to accept the grant on December 15, 2015. The grant was $35,000 with a city match of $13,100. Consultants Diane Wray Tomasso and Michael Paglia were chosen to undertake the project.

In July, 2018, the survey was completed. Titled Commercial Modernism in the Greater West Littleton Boulevard Corridor, it provides historical context on the rise of Modernism in Littleton and sets forth detailed information on the architectural style and historic significance of 77 buildings constructed between 1950 and 1980 in and around Littleton Boulevard.

The survey also identifies properties eligible for landmark designation under the city's historic preservation code as well as those eligible for the state and national registers.

Use of the Survey
1. Resource for property owners
2. Identification of structures eligible for historic landmark status
3. Resource for the update to the Littleton Comprehensive Plan
