Presented By:
Steve Kemp, City Attorney

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION:
Does city council support the authorization of the city manager to execute a bill of sale for the fire vehicles used at Stations 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19?

BACKGROUND:
The city entered into a Pre-Unification Agreement with the South Metro Fire Rescue Fire Protection District (South Metro) on April 18, 2018. As part of that agreement, all of the real and personal property used by Littleton Fire Rescue and owned by its members will be conveyed to South Metro. As the vehicles are titled separately, a separate bill of sale is used to authorize the transfer of the vehicles with the titles being executed at closing.

PRIOR ACTIONS OR DISCUSSIONS:
The Pre-Unification Agreement with South Metro was approved April 18, 2018.

As part of the inclusion of Littleton Fire Rescue into South Metro the vehicles are being transferred to South Metro. The vehicles will continue to be used for Fire and Emergency Services by South Metro. Future replacement of such vehicles will be a responsibility of South Metro.

OPTIONS/ALTERNATIVES:
The agreements the city has entered into provide for the transfer of the fire vehicles. The use of a bill of sale such as these is the legally proper way to provide for the transfer of the vehicles.

FISCAL IMPACTS:
None, other than those addressed in the Pre-unification Agreement.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends authorizing the city manager to execute the bill of sale for the fire vehicles used at Stations 11, 12, 13, 14, 1...
