REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION:
Does city council adopt the Envision Littleton 2040 Report, which contains the unifying vision and the guiding principles for Littleton over the next twenty years?

BACKGROUND:
The Envision Littleton 2040 Report is a community-driven process to plan for the next twenty years. The citizens of Littleton have shaped this plan. The twelve intense weeks of summer engagement yielded 870 online survey responses and conversations with over 3,000 people to provide a unifying vision and guiding principles. The month of October provided an opportunity for residents to "check our work" and by continuing the emphasis on key events in the City; the draft was seen by over 2,500 people. The community reviewed draft was the focus of the joint study session for City Council and Planning Commission on November 13.

This vision pending adoption is the initial step in a larger process to update the city's comprehensive plan and create a transportation master plan in 2019. Envision Littleton will also identify any updates to the city's zoning and land use codes and ensure consistency with the vision, comprehensive plan, and transportation master plan.

STAFF ANALYSIS:
The Envision Littleton outreach to date has been an unprecedented success; not only reaching record numbers, but also a greater spectrum of the community. The Envision Littleton 2040 Report was recommended by Planning Commission on December 10th, and is scheduled for council consideration and adoption on December 18th.

With council approval of this resolution, the next step would be developing a combined project management plan for undertaking the comprehensive plan and transportation master plan, as well as creating a public engagement plan. In addition, the Envision Lit...
