REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION:
Does council support adoption of the city's official zoning map?

BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to the zoning regulations, the updated official zoning map is being presented for adoption:
* The zoning map is a foundational element of the zoning regulations within the Littleton City Code
* The zoning map is updated periodically after any rezoning of property by the city council
* The proposed zoning map is a Geographic Information System (GIS) based map, and includes an interactive on-line version, a Portable Document Format (PDF) electronic file, and paper format

PRIOR ACTIONS OR DISCUSSIONS:
On October 22, 2018, the planning commission unanimously approved a motion to recommend council adoption of the official zoning map.

STAFF ANALYSIS:
Littleton's city code sub-section 10-1-6 states:

The official zoning map containing the boundaries of the various zone districts in the city, which may consist of one or more parts, and is made a part of this title by this reference. Copies of the official zoning map are available from the planning division for the reasonable cost of reproduction.

The proposed zoning map:
* contains no changes to existing zoning districts
* contains no changes to individual property designations
* is updated with a new look and color
* is easier to use and read
* is fully integrated with the Littleton web site for easy access

To ensure the accuracy of the new zoning map, staff checked each zoning district and individual parcel against the original zoning map from 1960 (and other official amended changes to that map). Staff then verified all subsequent zoning changes, parcel by parcel, against each corresponding rezoning ordinance and boundary description. The proposed official zoning map is:
