Review of Council’s Tentative Calendar

Body

Presented By:

Mark Relph, City Manager

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION:

Review of the council’s calendar for the balance of 2018 and confirm the priorities.

BACKGROUND:

Periodically, the City Manager will confirm with council the priorities and meeting schedule for the next several months. This tentative calendar sets the work plan for staff, as well as many of our Boards and Commissions. In the case of code ordinances, the Planning Commission is typically part of the process.

Attached to this communication is the latest draft of the council’s tentative calendar, a table outlining the steps and schedule for updating code provisions via ordinances and finally a list of code issues the staff maintains for future council discussion and consideration.

It is suggested the council approach this review as follows:

Review the tentative calendar to confirm if your priorities are reflected in the calendar over the next several months.

Review the staff list of outstanding code and policy issues. Staff has categorized them into three tiers with Tier 1 being considered the most important.

Staff would appreciate council identification and discussion of any other code issues the council would want to consider either with the staff list, or with the tentative calendar.

If there are any other issues identified, staff would evaluate and propose changes to the schedule at a later date. If there are no changes, staff would proceed as planned.
