BACKGROUND:

Homelessness in Littleton and the region has been a topic of discussion in many recent meetings attended by various council members. These meetings include, but are not limited to, meetings with Arapahoe County, the South Platte Working Group, and the Highline Canal Working Group.

This study session is intended to provide all members of council with the same background information regarding a recent effort along the South Platte River. This particular initiative included the cities of Englewood and Sheridan, the Urban Drainage District and may have some lessons for our city.

There will be three presenters including: Reid McGrath, Seargent, Englewood Police Department; Steve Materkowski, Senior Construction Manager, Urban Drainage and Flood Control, and Andy Jennings, Director of Parks and Open Space, South Suburban Parks and Recreation (SSPR). In addition, Littleton Police Chief Doug Stephens and SSPR Senior Park Ranger Dan Scheuernan will be available to answer questions.
