BACKGROUND
The Main Street Historic District Grant Program has been funded for $50,000 by city council for 2018. Per the historic preservation code (hp code), eligible properties include those in the Main Street Historic District and designated historic landmarks in downtown Littleton used for commercial purposes. The code also identifies projects eligible for funding, which include:
• Architectural design assistance
• Façade work
• Removal of graffiti
• Maintenance
• Signage
• Other improvements for new tenants
From time to time, the HPB has modified the grant application to refine the types of work it is interested in funding, provided it is consistent with the hp code. The 2017 Grant Invitation is attached for your review. The purpose of tonight’s discussion is to determine if the board would like to make modifications to this year’s program.
