POLICY QUESTION:
Does city council support an ordinance on first reading adopting the 2018 Littleton Sewer Utility Enterprise Fund budget?
BACKGROUND:
The city council reviewed the 2018 proposed budget at meetings September 11-13.
A presentation was given by John Kuosman, executive director of the Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment plant, at a study session September 26, 2017, regarding the Biogas project.
Based on discussions at this meeting, staff has included in the 2018 budget the city's share of the engineering cost for the development of Bio-gas options, $190,000. Council also directed staff to reduce the 2018 proposed budget by $4,000,000 related to the Bio-gas project. At the conclusion of the engineering study, and if both the Englewood and Littleton councils agree to proceed to construction, staff will then process a supplemental appropriation to add the city's share of the project.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
As the governing body of the Littleton Sewer Utility Enterprise, the city council is required to adopt a budget for this fund.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
Approval will establish a 2018 budget of $17,012,560.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the ordinance adopting the 2018 Littleton Sewer Utility Enterprise Fund budget.
PROPOSED MOTION:
Proposed Motion
I move to approve on second reading an ordinance adopting the 2018 Littleton Sewer Utility Enterprise Fund budget.
