Fire Dispatch and the request for mediation

BACKGROUND:
The city is in receipt of two letters from our fire partners of Highlands Ranch Metro District (attachment A) and the Littleton Fire Protection District (attachment B) requesting the city to enter into mediation to resolve differences over the council’s decision not to contract for fire dispatch services with South Metro Fire Rescue. The city council considered the issue at the June 27, 2017 regular meeting of the city council.
This study session allows for council discussion and to provide staff with direction on how to proceed.
