POLICY QUESTION:
Does city council support the appointment of four new members to the Board of Directors for the Aspen Grove Business Improvement District (BID)?
BACKGROUND:
The BID was established by the city in 2000 and is governed by a five-member board of directors appointed by city council. There are currently four vacancies on the board. Colo. Rev. Stat. 31-25-1209(b)(1) requires that the city council appoint new board members within 30 days of any vacancy.
The BID has petitioned city council to appoint Barret Bradley, Regional Property Manager for DDR Corporation; Sasha Shephard, Director of Property Management for DDR Corporation; Natalie Vessey, Marketing Director for the Aspen Grove Lifestyle Center; and Victoria Forte, Administrative Assistant to Sasha Shephard. Each are eligible to register to vote in the State of Colorado and are eligible to serve on the BID's Board of Directors either as the owner or lessee of taxable real property located within the BID's boundaries.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the appointments.
