POLICY QUESTION:
Does city council support appointing Doug Terry and Chris Armstrong to the Consolidated Regional CAD System Operations Committee?
BACKGROUND:
In January, 2014, the city council approved an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the Metropolitan Area Communications Center Authority, West Metro Fire Protection District, Evergreen Fire Protection District and the city for a consolidated regional Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. The IGA establishes an operations committee to manage the system. Under the IGA, the governing body of each party must appoint one voting member and one or more alternate voting members.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
The Arvada Fire Protection District (AFPD) has requested to join the IGA upon approval of the operations committee. The Littleton City Council needs to formally appoint a voting member and an alternate voting member to the operations committee in order to approve AFPD's request.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
None.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends appointing LFR Communications Manager Doug Terry as the voting member, and Fire Chief Chris Armstrong as the alternate voting member.
