Subject:

Title

An ordinance on second reading approving an amendment to the agreement with Cunningham Fire Protection District (CFPD) to provide emergency dispatch services

Body

Presented By:

Chris Armstrong, Fire Chief

POLICY QUESTION:

Does city council support an ordinance amending the agreement with Cunningham Fire Protection District (CFPD) for emergency dispatch services?

BACKGROUND:

The City of Littleton has provided emergency dispatch services to CFPD since 2008. The existing contract uses a “flat fee” methodology as the fee structure for service.

STAFF ANALYSIS:

After analysis of this contract, staff recommends revising the fee structure methodology for CFPD to align it with the fire partners. The contract amendment allows the fee structure to be based on call volume for CFPD for the previous year, plus a 4% Administrative Fee. This is the same methodology used in the Master IGA with LFPD and HRMD for dispatch services.

FISCAL IMPACTS:

Amending the fee methodology will generate an additional $34,912.62 for FY 2017.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.

PROPOSED MOTION:

Proposed Motion

I move to approve the ordinance on second reading amending the agreement with Cunningham Fire Protection District for emergency dispatch services.
