PURPOSE:
To request council approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of Littleton and the City of Englewood for removal and replacement of bridge joints on the Windermere Street Bridge over Big Dry Creek.

DISCUSSION:
The Windermere Street bridge over Big Dry Creek requires repairs to the deteriorated bridge joints. The municipal boundary between the City of Englewood and the City of Littleton runs along the centerline of this bridge on Windermere Street, with each agency responsible for its proportionate share of maintenance and repair costs. Englewood has agreed to lead this bridge joint repair project, with Littleton reimbursing Englewood for its proportionate share of the project costs. This IGA is proposed to formalize each agency's respective obligations and shared financial responsibilities for the project.
BACKGROUND:
Windermere Street is a primary thoroughfare within Littleton and continues north into Englewood. Big Dry Creek is a drainageway extending from Daniels Park in Douglas County to the South Platte River near Union Ave, with some areas of the drainageway coinciding with Englewood and Littleton municipal boundaries. Windermere Street crosses Big Dry Creek north of Belleview Avenue; the municipal boundary between the City of Englewood and the City of Littleton runs along the centerline of this bridge on Windermere Street.
