POLICY QUESTION:
Does the city adoption of the 2015-2020 Arapahoe County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (ACMHMP)?
BACKGROUND:
The Denver Regional Council of Governments Board recently decided it would not renew its mitigation plan, which means that each municipality or jurisdiction must complete their own plan within their home county. Arapahoe County has re-written its Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan as required and it was approved by both the State of Colorado and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
The ACMHMP is a comprehensive mitigation plan which encompasses key areas of hazard mitigation and response and has been adopted by other cities in the county including: Centennial, Englewood, Sheridan, and Cherry Hills Village.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
There is no fiscal impact for adoption of the ACMHMP.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends adoption of the 2015-2020 Arapahoe County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan.
