POLICY QUESTION:
 
Does city council support transferring ownership of the Ohlson property to the South Suburban Park and Recreation District, subject to a deed restriction?
 
BACKGROUND:
 
This matter was presented to city council on February 3, 2015 (first reading) and February 17, 2015 (second reading).  At the February 17, 2015 meeting, council tabled the matter until March 3, 2015, pending receipt of additional information from staff.  At the March 3 meeting, this matter was tabled until April 21, 2015.  
 
Staff's recommendation is to transfer ownership of the property, subject to a deed restriction, which will restrict the development and use of the property to public parkland with passive recreation.
 
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
 
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.

I move to approve the ordinance on second reading authorizing transfer of ownership of the Ohlson property to the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District subject to a deed restriction to preserve the property as public parkland with passive recreational uses.
