PURPOSE:
Southwest Metropolitan Water and Sanitation District (SWMWSD) is requesting a permanent sanitary sewer easement on City owned property in association with a needed relocation of existing sanitary sewer infrastructure as part of the Toll Brothers development located at the southwest corner of W. Mineral Avenue and S. Santa Fe Drive. The easement will be located within South Platte Park which is owned by the City. This new easement will allow for continued access to maintain and operate the SWMWSD's sanitary sewer infrastructure within this area.

LONG-TERM OUTCOME(S) SERVED:
Safe Community

DISCUSSION:
City of Littleton and SWMWSD policies require all utility infrastructure to be located within an easement when located on property not owned by the provider. This allows for continued operations and maintenance for the infrastructure installed.

BACKGROUND:
During construction of the Toll Brothers residential development within Parcels H and I of the Santa Fe Park South Development, field conditions required modifications to the proposed sanitary main connection. This resulted in a differing path and connection of the new sanitary main to the existing sanitary infrastructure. This new alignment of the sanitary main is outside of SWMWSD's existing easement within South Platte Park. Due to this, a new easement is needed to ensure long term access for operations and maintenance of the underground sanitary sewer infrastructure.
