Motion recommending appointment of Victim Assistance Coordinator Linda Suttle to the Arapahoe County Community Corrections Board
Body
Presented By:
Doug Stephens, Police Chief
POLICY QUESTION:
Does city council support recommending to the Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners that Victim Assistance Coordinator Linda Suttle serve as the representative for the City of Littleton on the Arapahoe County Community Corrections Board?
BACKGROUND:
Littleton Police Victim Assistance Coordinator Linda Suttle has served on the Arapahoe County Community Corrections Board since June 17, 2008. She has represented the interests of the Littleton community in a thoughtful and professional manner. As detailed in the attached letter from Judicial Services Division Manager Brad Kamby, Ms. Suttle is the current Chair of the Board and is the only member on the Board with a background in victims' issues. Ms. Suttle's work with victims uniquely qualifies her to provide the perspective of crime victims to the Board.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
Staff believes Ms. Suttle's reappointment to the Board will be in the best interests of the City of Littleton. Ms. Suttle's dedicated service to the Board for the past eight years has allowed her to develop expertise in the issues surrounding community corrections. She has also developed meaningful professional relationships with her cohorts, which allows her to more efficiently address victim service needs in the community. Ms. Suttle's work assignment allows her to attend board meetings during work hours and her service on the Board will not adversely affect her regular duties.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
None.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the reappointment of Victim Assistance Coordinator Linda Suttle to the Arapahoe County Community Corrections Board.
