PURPOSE:
Does city council support the appointment of Kelly Milliman and Stephanie Corrigan to the South Metro Housing Options (SMHO) Board?

DISCUSSION:
Due to an existing vacancy that council was unable to fill during the regular recruitment cycle, a position requiring the seat be filled by a recipient of SMHO services, which may include residence in a property managed by SMHO was left vacant. The candidate appointed to this seat, the Resident Commissioner, will serve a full term beginning immediately through March 31, 2029.
A mid-term resignation created another vacancy as well. The candidate appointed to this seat will serve out the remainder of the term which expires on March 31, 2027.
BACKGROUND:
On May 21, 2024, the clerk's office was notified by Corey Reitz, Executive Director of South Metro Housing Options, of an immediate vacancy on the SMHO Board due to the resignation of Elizabeth Kay Marchetti. The city held an open recruitment via an online application on the city's website beginning on June 21, 2024, through July 7, 2024. The recruitment yielded six (6) applications, four (4) of which specific to the resident commissioner seat.
Prior Actions or Discussions
Council conducted board and commission interviews in February of this year however the Resident Commissioner seat on the SMHO Board remained vacant as a result.
