PURPOSE:
To approve the reappointment of Amanda Lessmann as the municipal court judge for the City of Littleton.

DISCUSSION:
On September 23, 2024, Amanda Lessman was appointed as the Littleton Municipal Court Judge for a contract term of two-years. Judge Lessman has recently completed the performance evaluation process and City Council has requested to renew her employment contract for an additional two-year term.
BACKGROUND:
Prior Actions or Discussions
• August 18, 2026, City Council met in Executive Session to discuss the appointee evaluation process and receive Judge Lessman’s self-evaluation.
• September 1, 2026, City Council met in Executive Session to discuss staff and City Council’s evaluation feedback for Judge Lessman.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
The annual salary for Amanda Lessmann has been set at $87,822 per year with an additional one-time annual payment of $5,000.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends reappointment of Amanda Lessmann as Littleton’s municipal court judge for a two-year term commencing on September 15, 2026.
ALTERNATIVES:
Alternatives include allowing Judge Lessman’s contract to expire and beginning a new recruitment for the municipal court judge.
