POLICY QUESTION:
Does city council support a resolution adopting an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) accepting grant funds from Arapahoe County Open Space on behalf of the Littleton Public Schools (LPS) for renovation of the playground at Centennial Academy of Fine Arts Education (Centennial Elementary).
BACKGROUND:
LPS approached the city in 2014 to pursue funding through the county open space grant program to renovate Centennial Elementary's playground and requested that the city provide matching grant funds in the amount of $50,000. The council at that time also approved an IGA with LPS pertaining to the public use of the playground during non-school hours.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
Approval of the IGA allows the project to move forward as scheduled.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
The city provided $50,000 in 2014 as a grant match to the project. The grant amount is $148,587 (for a total project cost of $198,587). The city will function as the fiscal agent/pass through for the grant funds.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the resolution.
PROPOSED MOTION:
Proposed Motion
