DISCUSSION:

City Council awarded the contract to Dig Studio, Inc to provide consulting services in the development of a subarea plan and long-range vision for Littleton Boulevard. The plan will cover six focus areas: land use, transportation, historic preservation, housing, economic development, and green infrastructure. The plan will create a long-term vision and goals, as well as recommendations on how to accomplish the visions and goals, for the area based on the analysis of the six focus areas and community engagement.

As part of the engagement efforts for the plan, the project team invited City Council and the Stakeholder Working Group to participate in an urban design charette. The charette was a collaborative workshop that sought to develop a plan vision and guiding principles, based on public engagement over the last five months and the existing conditions of the subarea. The drafted plan vision and principles set the stage for development of a vision statement that defines what the community hopes and intends for the subarea to be in the future. The vision and guiding values developed during the charette will be utilized to create plan goals, which are broad, long-term outcomes that advance the vision and provide plan direction.
