Resolution to approve  the Memorandum of Understanding between City of Littleton, South Metro Fire Rescue Authority and West Douglas County Fire Protection District regarding joint response to the Back Country Joint Response Area
Body

Presented By:
Roland Seno, Division Chief

POLICY QUESTION:

Does city council support the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with South Metro Fire Rescue Authority and West Douglas County Fire Protection District regarding joint response to the Back Country Joint Response Area?

BACKGROUND:

The Back Country Joint Response Area is an undeveloped natural area with limited access requiring a multi-jurisdictional response to ensure a rapid response. Before this time a verbal agreement was in place with South Metro Fire Rescue Authority and West Douglas County Fire Protection District.

STAFF ANALYSIS:

Littleton staff would be entirely responsible to provide fire resources for extinguishment of fire in the back county. This allows staff to receive support from neighboring fire departments so that it can keep other response units in service for other emergency calls.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the MOU.

PROPOSED MOTION:
Proposed Motion
