PURPOSE:
Does council support approval of an amendment to an existing IGA with Mile High Flood District (MHFD), South Suburban Parks and Recreation District (SSPRD), and Arapahoe County for design and construction of drainage and flood control improvements at Reynolds Landing Park along the South Platte River?

DISCUSSION:
The city, with partners at MHFD, Arapahoe County, and SSPRD has invested in Reynolds Landing with prior design and construction of Phase 1 and continued design of Phase 2 improvements. This park is highly valued along the river corridor and identified in master planning documents. Phase 2 includes finalizing design for the park and the beginning of construction. Construction is due to begin in September of 2024. MHFD has been a critical partner in administering the design and construction contracts for all projects along the river in the city, as part of their South Platte Capital Improvement Program; MHFD funds are essential in funding this project. Staff is working collaboratively with MHFD, Arapahoe County, SSPR, and the South Platte Working Group to raise funds. Littleton has funding planned towards this project through 2028 in the Open Space fund.
