PURPOSE:
Does City Council support approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Arapahoe County Open Spaces to receive grant funds for the planning of a Trail Connectivity Analysis Plan?

SUMMARY:
The City requested grant funds in in April 2021 to assess Littleton's current trail network to review options for gap closure, expansion and improvements, including wayfinding that supports open space needs and multimodal transportation goals in the Transportation Master Plan and Bicycle/Pedestrian Plan.

PRIOR ACTIONS OR DISCUSSIONS:
City council approved a grant application on April 6, 2021 under Resolution 20-2021 to Arapahoe County Open Spaces to fund a Trail Connectivity Analysis Plan. Staff was notified on July 6, 2021, that funding for the grant was awarded in the amount of $100,000.

ANALYSIS:
Staff Analysis
The IGA is required to accept grant funds from the Arapahoe County Open Spaces Grant Program within 60 days of the award.

The grant award is $100,000 with an additional $25,000 in local match for a total project cost of $125,000. Once Council approves, project will commence in 2021.
