DISCUSSION:

City Council awarded the contract to Dig Studio, Inc to provide consulting services in the development a subarea plan and long-range vision for Littleton Boulevard. The plan will cover six focus areas: land use, transportation, historic preservation, housing, economic development, and green infrastructure. The plan will create a long-term vision and goals, as well as recommendations on how to accomplish the visions and goals, for the area based on the analysis of the six focus areas and community engagement.  As part of the engagement efforts for the plan, a stakeholder working group (SWG) has been formed. The first SWG meeting was held on February 12th and focused on introducing the planning process and the team. Discussion at the meeting centered primarily on what members felt was or was not working in the subarea. The goal of the discussion was to have the SWG begin to critically think about Littleton Blvd and the surrounding neighborhoods.

The planning team is currently undertaking the existing conditions analysis of the subarea, to form a baseline of current status for each of the six focus areas. Broad public engagement is expected to kick off in early April with the first community open house. This phase of engagement will focus on developing a vision and goals for the subarea. The planning team expects to engage with the public through community events, listening sessions, and online survey and mapping activities.

The presentation for the first SWG meeting is attached for reference, but will not be presented at the study session.
