PURPOSE:
Does council support approval of an intergovernmental agreement between the city and Littleton Public Schools for the OneCard program at the Library?

SUMMARY:
Littleton Public Schools (LPS) and the Bemis Public Library are partnering to increase collaboration between our overlapping communities. If approved by City Council, this partnership will be implemented in the 2020 fall semester. The IGA was approved by the Littleton Public School Board of Education on March 30,2020.

Bemis Public Library has a breadth of valuable resources that will provide Littleton Public School students with greater access to materials they need to be successful in school:
? Access research and homework help databases in school or at home
? Download ebook and eaudiobook materials
? Check out physical books
? Use library computers and other technology
Bemis Public Library and LPS will work jointly to develop a letter describing the policy/goals of the Littleton OneCard initiative to disseminate to LPS parents and educators. Both entities will work jointly to develop and disseminate external media coverage and to provide training related to the use of library resources, including but not limited to online resources. Bemis Public Library will continue to develop and provide appropriate collections to assist with the overall reading needs for children and adults in the whole community.
