PURPOSE:
Approving a Construction Contract with Silva Construction, Inc. for the Euclid Avenue Improvements Phase 1: Elati Street to Cherokee Street, City Project No. 23-03.

LONG-TERM OUTCOME(S) SERVED:

DISCUSSION:
The City of Littleton strives to be a community which is safe for all modes of transportation, including bicycle and pedestrian mobility. As part of the Littleton Linkages Trail Study and the Safer Streets Initiative, Euclid Avenue from Elati Street to Broadway has been identified for upgrades which will support safer pedestrian and bicycle travel and promote traffic calming measures for vehicular traffic. In addition, this street segment has been identified as having poor quality pavement and in need of rehabilitation.

The city held a public open house event for this project on Monday, March 3rd at 6:00 PM to discuss design elements, timelines, and circulation for pick-up and drop-off patterns at Euclid Middle School. The feedback received at the open house was considered in the advancement of the design of the project.

The project on Euclid Avenue will be constructed in two separate phases. The first phase extends from Elati Street to Cherokee Street. The second phase extends from Cherokee Street to Broadway, including improvements to the connection with the Highline Canal Trail. The design of the first phase is complete.
