PURPOSE:
To discuss guiding principles and develop goals for a five-year strategic plan and 2024-2025 work plan.

DISCUSSION:
At the May 20, 2024 Study Session, the HPC and staff discussed moving forward with the development of a 5 year strategic plan with a work program. The plan is meant to help guide the efforts of the HPC to support historic preservation in Littleton. The plan will provide an overarching framework through guiding principles or a vision statement from which goals, objectives, and action items may be developed. Through a series of study sessions the various components of the plan will be developed and discussed.
This first session focused on an overview of the process and components of a strategic plan. From this discussion the HPC found a yearlong work plan, as opposed to a five year plan, would be beneficial. This would result in a five-year plan with goals and objectives, that are then prioritized and further developed on a yearly basis.
The second session will primarily focus on developing goals for the plan in relation to the guiding principles found in Envision Littleton. An overview of the guiding principles and historic preservation items found in Envision Littleton and the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) will be provided to act as a starting point for goal development.
