Does city council support a resolution to approve the release of $100,000 in funding for advance design for 2019-2020 South Suburban Parks & Recreation projects in partnership with Littleton in accordance with a budget proviso?

BACKGROUND:
In the 2018 Budget adoption process a budget proviso was attached to releasing $100,000 in open space funds to support advance design for South Suburban Parks & Recreation (SSPR) projects impacting Littleton. This item requests City Council approval of the release of these funds to complete designs in 2018 for 2019 projects.

SSPR has requested $80,000 in planning and design funds for the 2018 shared capital improvement projects. The Five-Year Shared Capital Improvement Plan with the City of Littleton is attached. This plan does not include requests for South Platte Park, Hudson Gardens, or Mary Carter Greenway. This funding will allow for SSPR planning staff, with the help of consultants, to plan and design the projects outlined on the Five-Year Plan.

SSPR has requested that the $100,000 in design funds in the City of Littleton Open Space budget that we held with a budget proviso by Council be released to complete designs for 2019 work. The table shows $80,000 in request, city staff is also recommending releasing the additional $20,000 in design funds to support work related to immediate design needs to support the city's new property acquisition - the Superchi property in the river corridor.
