PURPOSE:
Discussion of council liaison opportunities for city boards, commissions, and committees and additional partner entity opportunities.

DISCUSSION:
Council liaisons are reviewed after each election, and as necessary between elections, to ensure adequate and proper council representation to boards and commissions and crucial partner entities and programs. Council liaisons report on board, commission, and committee updates during council meetings, thereby informing the public, council, and staff of activities and actions occurring within each appointment.
BACKGROUND:
Council members participate in boards, commissions, and additional group partnerships to be apprised of activities affecting citizens and programs within the Littleton community.
Prior Actions or Discussions
Appointments for the 2023-2025 cycle were amended on February 4, 2025, after Joel Zink was appointed to Council to fulfill the term vacated by Gretchen Rydin upon her election to the General Assembly.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
There are no direct fiscal impacts related to participation in liaison roles, however, failure to appoint, providing sufficient coverage to all opportunities, could impact grants and other funding partnerships.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
There is no staff recommendation. This is an opportunity for council to discuss available opportunities and make recommendations and/or requests regarding appointments.
ALTERNATIVES:
Council may reconsider its strategy for partnerships and assign liaisons at its discretion.
