DISCUSSION:
This ordinance will rename the 3A Capital Improvement Fund to the Capital Improvement Sales Tax Fund.
BACKGROUND:
In November 2021, Littleton voters approved a 0.75% sales tax increase to fund the cost of backlogged capital improvement projects. The ballot measure was assigned 3A on the November 2021 ballot.
In August 2022, City Council established a fund to track sales tax receipts and capital expenditures funded by the new sales tax as the 3A Capital Improvement Fund. This fund was established by ordinance and added to the Littleton City Code as Title 1, Chapter 10, Section 3, 3A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND.
During the September 13, 2025, City Council Budget Workshop, City Council discussed renaming the 3A Capital Improvement Fund to remove the "3A" from the fund name to prevent confusion for other ballot measures that may be assigned "3A".
This ordinance will rename references to the 3A Capital Improvement Fund to the Capital Improvement Sales Tax Fund within Title 1, Chapter 10, Section 3 of the Littleton City Code.
