PURPOSE:
Does city council support Approving a Construction Contract Amendment with E&M Concrete, LLC for the 2024 Miscellaneous Concrete Project, City Project No. 24-05?

DISCUSSION:
The City of Littleton's Public Works Department's pavement management program includes performing concrete repairs prior to surface sealing or resurfacing projects. Replacing concrete in advance of pavement preservation work provides high value by improving drainage and providing a stable edge to seal or pave against, as well as optimizing the value of preservation projects.

The city advertised the 2024 Miscellaneous Concrete Project on June 5, 2024. The bids were opened on June 21, 2024. Staff reviewed the submitted bids and found that E&M Concrete, LLC was the lowest and most qualified bidder. Work was performed on this project starting in early September and concluding in mid-December of 2024. Additional areas were identified for repairs throughout the project and resulted in additional work.

Approval of this resolution would authorize the first amendment to the agreement for the additional concrete work which was performed.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Littleton has approximately 360 lane miles of streets within the community's transportation network.
