Subject:
Title
Resolution approving the Supplemental Agreement No 1 with the Secretary of the Army for continued access at South Platte Park
Body

Presented By:
Mike Braaten, Deputy City Manager

POLICY QUESTION:
Does city council support approving a supplemental lease agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for continued access at South Platte Park?

BACKGROUND:
The city has maintained a lease with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for many years to provide for the access road and parking lots south of the reservoir in South Platte Park.  The lease was modified in 2003 to contemplate the closing of the direct access from C-470, formerly shared with the Kiewit gravel operation.

STAFF ANALYSIS:
This supplemental lease agreement builds upon the 2003 lease, extending it to 2016 and then allows for annual renewal through January 31, 2023 with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reserving the right to modify or terminate the lease should the property be needed for the widening C-470.

FISCAL IMPACTS:
None.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the resolution.

PROPOSED MOTION:
Proposed Motion
I move to approve the resolution approving the Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with the Secretary of the Army for continued access at South Platte Park.
