DISCUSSION:
City Council awarded the contract to Dig Studio, Inc to provide consulting services in the development of a subarea plan and long-range vision for Littleton Boulevard. The plan will cover six focus areas: land use, transportation, historic preservation, housing, economic development, and green infrastructure. The plan will create a long-term vision and goals, as well as recommendations on how to accomplish the visions and goals, for the area based on the analysis of the six focus areas and community engagement.
As part of the engagement efforts for the plan, City Council attended a walking tour with the project team. The tour focused on exploring the existing conditions of Littleton Blvd and the surrounding neighborhoods in the project area, with an emphasis on the study focus areas: land use and historic preservation, economic development and housing, transportation and mobility, and streetscapes and green infrastructure.
At the May 18, 2026 study session the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) requested to go on a walking tour of the subarea, similar to the one attended by City Council. Attached are the walking tour map and questions provided to City Council. The walking tour for the HPC will use the questions and map as the basis of discussion and will address the topics through the lens of historic preservation.
