PURPOSE:
The police and finance departments seek to amend the current contract(s) with Axon Enterprise, Inc. by combining all existing Axon contracts and extending the amended contract to March 31, 2030.

DISCUSSION:
The Police Department currently contracts with Axon for several products and services including body-worn cameras (BWC), Tasers, digital evidence management/storage, and interview room recording. Due to varying timeframes of when these products/services came online with the LPD, there are different contracts for several of them. The current primary contract covers most BWC, digital evidence storage, and Tasers and is due to expire April 30, 2027. There is also a separate contract for additional BWC hardware and licensing related to the police personnel expansion in 2024.

The Police Department and Finance Department seek to combine all existing Axon contracts into a single amended contract with an expiration date of March 31, 2030. Axon product and service costs have significantly increased during the current contract and are anticipated to continue to rise substantially in coming years. By amending the Axon contract the City of Littleton will secure 2024 pricing for the length of the contract and stands to have significant savings in the long term by avoiding annual price increases (currently 10-12% per year). In addition to the long-term savings, the combination of multiple contracts into one provides ease of accounting and fiscal management by all involved departments.
