PURPOSE:
Does city council support an IGA between the City of Littleton and the Mile High Flood District for Major Drainageway Planning for Rangeview Gulch.

DISCUSSION:
The Rangeview Gulch Major Drainageway Planning study will update the hydrology for Rangeview Gulch and provide a size for the proposed detention pond at Ridgeview Park. The work will complement the redesign of Ridgeview Park that South Suburban Parks and Recreation District will be conducting this summer.
BACKGROUND:
As a part of the Integrated Water Resources Plan the recommendation was made to convert the Ridgeview Pond into a drainage facility. This IGA with the city and the MHFD is the first step in moving toward the recommendations outlined in the Integrated Water Resources Plan. South Suburban Parks and Recreation District is in the process of hiring a consultant to help with the re-imagining of Ridgeview Park. For that process to move forward, they need a recommended volume for the Ridgeview future drainage facility.
Prior Actions or Discussions
The Integrated Water Resources initial findings were presented at the June 13, 2023, study session. The primary focus of the presentation and discussion was on the city's water supply and water demands.
The final draft Integrated Water Resources plan was presented at the October 24, 2023, study session. The primary focus was to receive direction on recommendations for the use of the city's limited water portfolio.
