REQUESTED BOARD ACTION:

The applicant requests approval of a rooftop awning over a second story seating area of the Blue Ribbon and Bussard Building.

 

BACKGROUND:

The Blue Ribbon and Bussard Building was included in the Main Street Historic District in 2011. In 2015, property owner Francois Safieddine received a Certificate of Historic Appropriateness (COA) to construct a second story for the ViewHouse Littleton restaurant. For this COA application, the applicant requests COA approval to place an awning with pull-down sides over the second story eating area.

The historical preservation board may take the following actions on the application: approve; approve with conditions; continue to a date certain; and deny. A sample motion is provided for each option along with suggested findings.

 

FISCAL IMPACTS: Not Applicable

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff finds that, in compliance with Section 4-6-14(C) of the Littleton City Code, the proposed Certificate of Historic Appropriateness for 2670-80 W. Main Street, known as the Blue Ribbon and Bussard Buildings, meets the criteria for approval. Staff, therefore, recommends approval of HPB Resolution 05-2018, approving the Certificate of Historic Appropriateness for 2670-80 W. Main Street.
