PURPOSE:

Does council approve the first amendment to the existing IGA between the City of Littleton and Jefferson County regarding the CARES Act Local Government Distributions?

SUMMARY:

On May 26, 2020, Jefferson County and the city of Littleton entered into an IGAregarding the CARES Act Local Government Distributions. The first amendment to the existing IGA extends the deadline to return unexpended funds to the County from September 20, 2020 to November 1, 2020. The amendment also adds additional compliance guidance for a city acting as a pass-through entity for subrecipient subawards.

 

PRIOR ACTIONS OR DISCUSSIONS:

City council approved Resolution 46-2020: Approving an Intergovernmental Agreement between City of Littleton and Jefferson County regarding the CARES Act Local Government Distributions on May 19, 2020.

 

ANALYSIS:

Staff Analysis

The amendment of this IGA has been standardized and submitted to all cities within Jefferson County. Staff believes the terms are reasonable as it relates to receipt of CARES Act funding.

Fiscal Impacts

The City’s share of the Fund is Two Hundred Ten Thousand, Two Hundred Two Dollars ($210,202).

 

Alternatives

If council chooses not to approve the amendment to the IGA, they will risk not receiving remaining CARES Act funding from Jefferson County.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approving the amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement with Jefferson County regarding the CARES Act Local Government Distributions.
