LONG-TERM OUTCOME(S) SERVED:
High-Quality Governance
DISCUSSION:
On March 4, after a recruitment process and three (3) nights of interviews, council approved appointments to all city boards, commissions, and committees to fill vacancies and fulfill terms. Since appointments were confirmed, vacancies now exist on two of the city’s advisory bodies; ESB and NGAB.
BACKGROUND:
Upon confirmation of appointments by council on March 4, 2025, for appointments to the city’s boards, commissions, and committees, successful candidates were notified. One candidate appointed to NGAB declined the appointment, and one member of ESB resigned her seat, resulting in vacancies on each board.
Based on the candidates interviewed in February, and council input during deliberations that followed, the candidates with the next highest nods for appointment were discussed. Council directed staff to bring forward a motion to appoint members to both ESB and NGAB.
Prior Actions or Discussions
They Mayor discussed the recent vacancies and process for confirmation of new board members during his report at the April 1, 2025, regular city council meeting.
