PURPOSE:
Does city council support reappointing Ethan Feldman as municipal court judge for an additional two-year term, with a three percent increase?

SUMMARY:
Council Members Fey and Driscoll worked with Assistant to the City Manager Samma Fox and Human Resources Director Noel Mink to complete the bi-annual review process.
The city council held a performance review of Judge Feldman at its January 19, 2021 study session. Based upon the recommendation of the review committee and discussion at that meeting, a contract has been prepared reflecting the recommended 3% increase.
In accordance with Section 58 of the Littleton City Charter, the municipal court judge is appointed by council for a term of two years.
PRIOR ACTIONS OR DISCUSSIONS:
Council held Judge Feldman’s performance review on January 19, 2021 during a study session. Judge Feldman’s previous contract was renewed for two years effective February 2019 and his prior performance review was in January 2019 during a council study session.

Fiscal Impacts
In accordance with the city code section 1-6-21, the judge’s compensation will be set at an annual budgeted amount of $84,444.00.

I move to approve Resolution 02-2021 to reappoint Judge Ethan Feldman as the municipal court judge for a two-year term, effective February 1, 2021, and authorize the mayor to execute the agreement.
